Writer and librettist Mark Hernandez specializes in a subject that is near and dear to his heart: opera. With Lotfi Mansouri, he co-wrote True Tales from the Mad, Mad, Mad World of Opera, garnering notice for his ability to communicate the legendary impresario’s distinctively warm and humorous tone. Mark ghostwrote several chapters for an autobiography published in 2010. Currently, he is writing the libretto to The Mother of San Francisco (working title), an opera commissioned by Opera Parallèle, with music by David Garner.

Mark is also a consultant to non-profit performing arts organizations and grantmaking entities, as well as an opera singer.
